Almost guarantee you its someone he knew. Could even be a meth head family member.
Yep. What happens is the addict gets some free shite or pays a debt by spilling all the goods to their dealer on a good lick. It's often family members or an employer. They help set up a well-planned burglary kr robbery of a restaurant just before bank drop. This happens allll the time.

Did the HOA do an investigation into the patrol officer yet?

Your instincts are usually spot-on. Do you suspect some inside help?

Pretty fricking bold to do that during the day and in a subdivision.
They are not going to do it at night when everyone is home.

Saturday morning after 7:00 am is extremely rare for a home burglary, especially in a neighborhood. Everyone is home, except your neighbor, and many are outside milling about doing yard work, chores, morning walks or jogs, and kids are starting to make their way outside to play.
Someone either knew his schedule, or a robber happened to be in the neighborhood just as your neighbor was leaving and noticed there were no other cars on his property.
Even then, he had no idea how long your neighbor would be gone. Was he taking a 5 minute trip to get coffee? I would pass around images from your security camera around the neighborhood. Maybe someone had been doing work in the area on weekends and noticed your neighbor leaves every Saturday morning.

I think it is pretty obvious why it bothers you...YOU COULD BE NEXT that's why it bothers you.
Do you think you could shoot and kill the robber if he comes in your house?

I've seen this pattern before. We had a similar situation, but it wasn't our patrol officer. It was a real estate agent that had conspired with a lawn crew to steal some jet skis. There were no visible signs of forced entry into the garage. Some good ole fashioned surveillance film from a Nest across the street did a good job of helping to identify the perps, along with the video from our patrol drone.

It is unsettling.
Our neighborhood is pilfered all summer. Generally if you just lock up you have no issues.

It's an inside job. Probably a family member or someone who has been in the house before.

That's why I have nest cameras around and in my house.

I'd really like to see your control center sometime. I bet it's amazing.

Id imagine that subdivisions are hit more than houses in rural areas. And itd be stupid to rob a house at night when more people are home and neighbors are around.
Went through this about 10 years ago for about a week straight. It was a bigger subdivision of about 250-300 houses. The robbers would break into roughly 5 houses a day on one side of subdivision and the next day hit houses on the opposite end of the subdivision. The subdivision didnt have any type of Facebook page back then so the only way to really know about it was by word of mouth from neighbors. And at that rate, sometimes people found out a week or two later.

My HOA is absolutely useless unless you have a single weed in your lawn.

Apparently the guys had driven through the neighborhood earlier that morning to see how many vehicles were at the houses in the neighborhood (University Hills). Later after most have gone off to work (around 10am) they would just pull up to a house with no vehicle, knock on the door and when no one answered they would break in and steal whatever they could get within 15-20 minutes.
That’s a very common plan from 10am- 3pm.
But this was at 7am. Most burglars are lazy and stay up late so they don’t wake up by 7am. Plus 7am is before kids are all in school and many people hit the gym early, would be pretty ballsy to risk someone going to take their kids to school or run an errand before returning home.
Cameras are becoming so common now though. Many neighborhoods really benefit from having even just the corner house having one that points down the street so you can see the whole street. As opposed to the camera just pointing out into their driveway.
When I was on an hoa some jackass was letting his German Shepheard crap in peoples yards and not pick it up. Good ole neighbors camera finally got him.

Get a gun, or push for Buford to add the law that homeowners must own guns.

Some people don't need to own guns

suggest everyone do the same. The app is incredible, maybe 1/2 second delay at most. Protect your property.
Yeah this is the only way this stuff will stop most likely. It's something like 82% of burglaries go unsolved. It's just too easy to take shite if you want it and not get caught.

What I meant was in broad daylight with a neighbor 15 feet away .
