I haven't had cats crap in my yard thankfully but my Dad has. He's also had problems with cats killing nesting birds in his yard as well. The cats could probably get away with crapping in his yard but they've crossed the line with the bird killing. He usually traps them and drives them out to the middle of nowhere and drops them off.

My instinct is to trap the fricker and call animal control, but what's the best way to keep a-hole cats out of your yard?
Growing up my Dad had this same problem except it was the cat walking up and down the hood and roof of his car and my Mom's car. It used to piss my Dad off because he, like me, was a car nut. So, he got a humane trap and would trap them. He would haul them off about 5 miles or so away and let them out. I still do this occasionally but my neighbors really don't have any cats. I used to laugh at my Dad and tell him I was going to start putting decals on his front fender of a cat with a zero and slash through it. Kind of like the LA State Troopers used to do with lightning bolts for stolen car recovery, if I remember right. Anyway, at some point the neighbors quit buying cats I guess since Kitty Kitty didn't always come home. I will say that every now and then you catch a huge "Tom" and that is some dangerous shite letting one of them loose. I had to wear welding gloves once because that big Kitty was pissed!

People that let their cats roam free are the inconsiderate assholes so you don’t need to consider their feelings in this situation bc they haven't considered your’s or the rest of the neighborhood’s. So do what you will.

But be ready for a violent retaliation once the pet owner neighbor realizes that what you legally did to their cat. Irresponsible pet owners are almost never rational normal people who are considerate of others, so, be ready for a fight -- maybe even a gun fight.

I assure you that cat is providing your perimeter with good pest control. Consider it a small fee for shitting in your yard.

It seems like the cat owners think that their chosen pet negates everyone else's property rights... Just because..."that's what they do."
Meanwhile if I try to break into their back yard and take a shite...it is frowned upon.
Those damn hypocrites.

I have called the parish on her and they threatened to put a lein on her property if she didn't do anything about it. She built an enclosure off the back of her house that was supposed to house said cats and they still come around so I know its not resolved. I ahve also approached her numerous times about keeping them inside, stop feeding them, etc etc. She doensn't listen so at this point, i don't care what they have. I have approval from the Animal Control Director to trap at will so that is what i've been doing.
Did they have tags / collars / microchips?

Cats really don't shite very much. There's probably 4 or 5 cats that roam around my neighborhood and I don't think I've ever once noticed cat shite anywhere.

For years we didn't have a dog but every time I mowed there would be dog shite all in my front yard.
Now when I walk mine he loves to shite by peoples mailboxes, I just laugh and keep on walking.

Because they bury it.

Paint ball gun is the correct answer. And if you ever have a hard headed animal you wish to discourage from coming into your yard (including neighbor woman) just freeze the paintballs before shooting them.
Like getting shot with a marble.

cat owners aren't gun owners and if they happen to have one or two, they sure as hell can't shoot well
Really? Are you aware of the fact that the guy who shot Big Lee to death is a cat owner?
Genius, you are.

Talk to your neighbors? Not that hard.
And get a dog.
And get a dog.
