So I applied at the beginning of March when we shut down, and I finally got my first Federal check.

Well I go back to work Monday. So am I royally fricked and only receiving one payment?

Does the government owe me back pay, or do they not consider the time spent waiting because of their own incompetence? They owe me 3,600 in backed pay if you count from the time I applied and I want every cent. They forced us to close down, making me dip really heavily into savings. I want compensation for it.

Appreciate it if anyone knows. Somehow could not find the answer on Google...

Well under the circumstances they may work with you but I doubt it.

Really? Florida fricked this up so badly. It would be insane that they do not compensate when it was entirely their fault it took so long.

If you were filing weekly claims during this time I believe you will get back pay.

In Florida you are actually required to pay back your corporate overlords for their pain and suffering in having to lay you off

(you should get backpay to the date your claim started but i wouldn't count on it)

Not sure what state you’re in, but you applied and filed every week since March, you are supposed to receive $540 a week after tax beginning with the week ending April 4/5 through this week. They retroactively paid us for those early weeks. You should be eligible too.

My GF hasn't filed weekly, she got hers on the regular starting the first week of April. I applied three times so maybe I'll get three payments I hope.

Yes you should stay on top of it and try to call. My girlfriend had the same problem as you and they eventually paid her. I did some partial and they eventually gave me several weeks to file all at one time. These are unusual times, you should get paid don't worry. Some states are still backed up.

Florida and California UI systems are dysfunctional. You'll need to find out why you were denied the weeks you filed for.

Good luck on receiving your government check.I haven't received one either.

I've been working,so it's not that big of a deal.

I don't like the fact that folks are struggling because of this.

You are supposed to get back pay for the $600 federal amount from whenever it started.

I know people that filed unemployment at the beginning of March that haven't had their applications approved yet. Gotta love state government offices.

Wut?

36,000,000 people filed for unemployment in a 2 month span. Let that sink in. Why is it a shocker to anyone that applications haven't been approved?

This, right here, is the reason you're told to have a six month emergency fund. shite happens.
