I have two suits from Jos A Bank and I'm donating them to the homeless.

aight, so Jos A Bank is out, i knew the quality wasnt the best, but i didnt realize it was this bad!

All my shirts are brooks brothers for the most part, but im sure their suits are crazy expensive.

Banana Republic shite is always too tight, i think its the style but i dont really dig it, tight pants and small, short jackets..

I've found some good deals on HSM gold trumpeters (half canvassed) from Dillards in the last few years. I've also seen some deals in a couple of Dillards on Hickeys though several of the Dillards don't carry them.

The rack stores from Nordstrom, Neimans, etc. can be a place where you can make a great deal on Hickeys and other fully canvassed suits if you know what you are looking for. The only drawback is popular sizes will be hard to find. Invest in a good tailor and it will make all the difference in the way your suit looks.

Is men's wearhouse bad? I recently rented a tux to be a groomsman, and it was pretty nice, in my inexperienced opinion.

It depends if you want to wear a suit or look good in a suit.

I had to go into one this week (tux for wedding) and tried on what was supposedly one of their nicer house brand sport coats. It was pretty bad.

That's obviously a small sample size.

If you have a Nordstrom Rack near you, go there. They will have better quality suits than Jos A Bank for comparable prices.

Brooks Bros does a suit that's not bad at all. I forget exactly how it works, but you don't buy it off the rack. you go in and select a material swatch and they make it for you. They don't keep it on the rack with their other suits. I almost bought one that way, but it took too long to come in and needed something sooner. They also have a "outlet" store suit that is different than their regular suits that is cheaper. A regular suit from them is going to run you $1000+. These suits were in the $500 to $700 range if I recall correctly.

Look at Combatant Gentleman online. It's not going to be a nice as a high-end Brooks Brothers suit, but I find it's better than the JAB budget suits. It will run you about $200 (the pants come unhemmed, so a little tailoring is necessary). All told, you're looking at about $220 to $250 depending upon what alterations you make. Plus, they naturally fit better than the baggy JAB suits

If you are in the CENLA area go to Weiss & Goldring. They have some really nice suits in the lower price ranges and will tailor them to fit.

You have my number, holler at me when you're down here. I just moved into a house out in oak grove. Gonna have to step my lift game up because there's some talent out here
