Probably screwed.

Lots of people suggesting homeowner's insurance will cover it but most policies won't cover negligence. I would think your carrier will try to make that claim to get out of paying anything.

I likely think they'd be successful.

Your screwed because of your negligence..

No way I would've done that, especially since you were responsible for someone else's kid...

Words going to get out about this, and parents will avoid letting their kids hang out with your son...

Sue for monetary gain or just hospital bills? That's the question.

He would have at the least sent them back out with a bat.

A hatchet?

A fricking hatchet?

You gave kids a HATCHET to kill it?? I had a cottonmouth in my yard the other day. I went after him with a shovel; he struck that shovel blade so damn hard when I jabbed at him, I said, “frick this” and blasted him with a 12 gauge.

Long story short my son and his friend came running into the house saying that they found a cotton mouth near the edge of the pound while they were fishing. I gave my son a hatchet and told him to just take care of it.

Were you trying to get your son killed? You’re fricked.

After the kid spent a couple days in the hospital, many viles of anti venom and almost losing his foot the kid is mostly okay except for a little nerve damage.
Mostly ok and just a little nerve damage on an 11 year old, huh? I hope you have an umbrella policy, because you're homeowner's limits will probably get tested.

If your exact words weren't something like "stay far away from the venomous snake, boys", you're probably screwed.

Should have probably given him a gun but I was watching golf and didn't feel like getting one out the safe
