The best place is here.
The best time is now.
Sometimes what we miss is what we remember. When we go back, it’s different because we are different. Growing up in a place is different than being grown up in a place. Responsibility changes our perspective.

We get more total rainfall here, but it rains a lot more frequently there, so, no thanks.

I left when I was 11 because my dad got a new job. I’m 40 now.
I still miss New Orleans. If I were rich and the had the opportunity, I’d move back.
Louisiana is one of the only states (really just South Louisiana) with a real sense of culture. Humans desire a cultural identity and sadly, most of America is suburban/urban hell, car-centric to the point of redundancy and boredom.

Good Lord man, it’s not even 7 in the morning.

Missing Louisiana.
Get a couple of full garbage bags from a Popeyes and take them out to a flat stretch of abandoned tore up roadway and spread the contents around.
Find some homeless people and bring them out there and you’re 95% of the way home, cher.

Only bc you're not here. Come for a few days and you'll be ready to leave again.

Pittsburgh, one of the best cities in the country
Love Pittsburgh, but there's literally one major city in the country that has more cloudy days year-round, and that city is Seattle.

Louisiana itself is about the same. There's just been an increase in the amount of shite bags truly responsible for the well-deserved bad reputation everyone gripes about.
Over the weekend some of the esteemed locals in BR burglarized cars at (at least) two fire stations. The people who come running when people need help.
This type of feral behavior will eventually ruin any area. It's happened in many areas here.

Just move out of Philly. Pretty much every major city is a POS these days with drugged-out homeless zombies passed out/living on various streets, sidewalks, door stoops and alleyways. Get out to the smaller towns (Redding, King of Prussia, etc) or move out of the state completely.
I wouldn't move back to La though. The traffic ranges from bad to nightmarish in any decent sized town (get ready, Hammond, you're on deck), the summers are brutal and our public education system is forcing teachers to be nurse/parent/psychologist/conflict resolution export/etc as often as being a teacher (read: substituting for bad parenting).

Most people who post here don’t live in Louisiana but act like they know everything about the state because they lived there over 10 years ago. You will not find another website that hates Louisiana as much as this one.
If you want serious responses you need to go to a different website.
