So sorry for your loss. Allow the grief and loss to turn into fond memories and gratefulness of having had her in your life.

SOSFAN ... I've been on 6th Floor South Tower at LexMed all week with my Mother.
Just diagnosed with a bad esophageal pre-cancer because of Alieve and reflux.
Her hemoglobin was down to 4.0 because of the internal bleeding. She took five transfusions this week just to get her above 9.0.
God Bless your Mother, family and you SOSFAN. We probably crossed paths up there this week.
Prayers for y'all Pal.
She wasn't a little bitty gray haired lady on a walker on the 6th floor trying to walk this afternoon around 2:30 PM was she. Her Son was encouraging her .... he had on a baseball cap and t-shirt, maybe in his 50s? Two rooms down from Mom. Was that y'all? Down the 600-620 wing?
She was really struggling. Little bitty tiny sweet little thing?

I'm sorry to hear that, bud. It is tough losing a parent. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. Just lean on your family and others around you, don't take the entire burden of the grief upon yourself. Try to remember the good times, and cry if you need to. My condolences.

I feel you my brother. Four months ago I lost my own dear mother after a bitter eight year battle with alzheimers. I'm still numb. Maybe I'll always be numb. I guess I did a lot of grieving along the way and most of it's already done. Or maybe it will hit me like a load of bricks at some point. I don't know. I still have my dad and helping him gives me some continuity.
Several times a day I think of a question or something I want to tell her but that time is past.
My mother certainly believed she was going to a better place. I hope there's something after this but It's always been hard for me to believe in it. Just seems too good to be true. At any rate, her suffering is over and there's some peace in knowing that.
