When it’s hot, a watermelon martini really hits the spot. Put watermelon chunks in a colander over a large bowl. Use a glass or something to mash all the juice out of it. Discard pulp. 3:1 Watermelon juice to vodka over ice.

Sorry but that isn’t a martini.

It’s vodka and juice. And may be good. But not a martini.

And to the rest of you heathens, martinis are made with gin. Your vodka with olive “juice” well, that’s just vodka and juice.

Edit: to contribute and not just be an arse, The Last Word cocktail is easy and great. A Pimm’s Cup is refreshing. And look at City Pork in Baton Rouge has a bourbon drink that is bourbon, a peppercorn syrup, bitters, and a lot of fresh coarse black pepper. It’s delicious.

Colder weather - several already mentioned. A Gold Rush or a Boulevardier are very nice. Even a Negroni still plays in the fall.

Real cold weather - Hot Buttered Rum

Fumata Bianca

Similar to a mezcal negroni but smoother. Suze can be hard to find but absolutely worth keeping stocked. I usually will drink just Suze over ice for a digestif.

1 oz white vermouth
1 oz Suze
1/2 mezcal

top with soda water. citrus twist

A legit mai tai is

Yours may be "legit" but's it's not correct. This is the correct way...

2 Parts Dark Rum (we use Appleton Estate Signature Jamaica Rum)
1 Part Fresh Squeezed Lime juice
1/2 Part Orgeat (only legit Orgeat is Liber and Co.)
1/2 Part Orange Curacao (Use Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao)
1/4 Part Rock Candy syrup (Trader Vic's)...can substitute other sweet syrups such as simple syrup (Liber), gum syrup (Liber) and even grenadine if that's all you have.

Obviously, one can change a recipe to their liking. Trader Vic's recipe is the original and gold standard. Always use high quality aged Jamaican rums. Choose quality products when making a Mai Tai otherwise it won't taste right. When done properly, a Mai Tai is awesome. We make a few a week. Liber and Co syrup products are the best. Worth ordering...I will not buy just any orgeat at a local liquor store.

ETA....here's a great website for Mai Tai info. Ultimate Mai Tai

2 oz dry gin
1 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz orgeat
1-2 dashes angostura bitters

citrus twist.

I don't love lemony cocktails so I usually reduce the lemon juice and up the bitters to my taste.

I’ve been drinking apple juice or cider with caramel vanilla Smirnoff. My wife makes a fancier cocktail with ginger beer and shite I don’t need. Great drink for fall imo. A little gay, but drops my wife’s panties well.

I usually only drink whiskey neat but occasionally I will mix it up with the better half. We recently tried one that was very good:
-Captain Morgan spiced rum 1oz
-ginger ale 4oz
-lime wedge
-ice
Pour a shot of the rum, squeeze the lime wedge, add ginger ale and ice.

Try the Gentleman Fig

Lightly Muddle blueberries
1.5 OZ of Figenza Vodka
1/2 oz of bourbon (although I cheat and add a full ounce)
1/4 oz of fresh lemon juice
top w/ Ginger Ale

It's a good early afternoon drink, but also very dangerous.

2 ounces of whatever whiskey you prefer
1 oz of either lemon or lime juice
1 spoonful of whatever simple syrup you prefer
Topped with club soda or seltzer water in a regular drinking glass filled with ice.

No idea if the drink has a proper name but it tastes fantastic and is very easy to make

Of course, but the key phrase is "properly made."
