Need Info on Hemorrhoids

Need good information "for a friend. Ever had one? How long to they last? Any suggested treatment? Any good doctor suggestions? My friend has never had anything like this and could use some good advice.
Oh...and yes, prior to this my friend would've found this to be a funny topic so feel free to take the low hanging fruit. My friend will gladly deal with the AIDS, the Ghey, and any other comment to get just one response of good advice.

Doctors will usually recommend discontinuing anal sex until the 'roid is gone. Your boyfriend will most likely be upset, but you've got to stay strong and deny him the B-hole until you've recovered.

You can use the medicated wipes and they soothe your anus quickly. It also takes away the itching sensation upon contact. If it gets too bad, you can insert a preparation H suppository for relief.
If it is an external roid, you can pop it like a zit and move on about your day.

Internal or external will make a big difference on treatment.
Tell "your friend" to stop spending so much time on the shitter, cut back on the red meat, add some fiber, and try OTC ointments before going to the colorectal surgeon. GI's will take care of them, but most I know prefer not to. Some will just prescribe without looking, so go to a colorectal surgeon instead.
The Gi/surgeon will try what I just told you, then a few ointments, then rubber band ligation if possible. If internal, and conservative routes don't work, it's surgery.

-A blow up donut to sit on from Walgreens
-See if Dr can prescribe Proctofoam
I've had it bad 3 times externally. Nothing to do but suck it up and don't move for a few days. The baths help a lot. Eventually (usually on the 3rd day) you'll wake up and it will be gone but you might have some blood left behind. Take a good bath and then boom, it's over. It's a miserable experience.

Just go to the doc and get the nitro cream. It's the quickest and they give you plenty in the prescription so you can apply it at the first hint they are coming back (which they will) and nip that shite in the bud.
