A friend's kid is going to LSU in the Fall and he's thinking about buying a condo on Brightside near Nicholson. The complex is called Jessica's Landing.

When I was at LSU in the Stone Age, that area was nice. But, the whole Tigerland area was okay at the time. I've heard that Tigerland is now a Section 8 ghetto.

Is Brightside (riverside of Nicholson but close to Nicholson) still an okay place to live/buy a condo?

Eh. I guess. It looks like a three story apartment monster threw up over the entire 8 mile radius. It's sickening.

El Cid brah

But buying a place as Jessica's Landing would put you in walking distance to Am Mart, which is invaluable. I miss those sandwiches so god damn much.

that area isn't bad.

It's the area around Bob Petit that can be rough

I'd advise avoiding Brisghtside though as traffic is horrible.

It would surprise me if your friend would be able to sell the condo for what he paid for it when kid leaves LSU. Of course, if he rents an apartment, that is money gone forever, too.

I lived at Jessica's Landing about 5 years ago. It's not too bad. Quiet and it's gated and has a pool.

Sav-More has much bigger/cheaper sammiches AND a Krispy Krunchy in the store. Stupid people go to Am-Mart.

Yeah it's a pretty solid area, gated too. Tell your bud to stay off Nicholson as much as possible, it's a black hole for traffic

agreed ^ east boyd/west parker area ftw. Those apartments are too close to school to ever be empty.

plus I wouldn't be surprised if you end up getting bought out by a property company so they can build a bid complex.

That's what happened to the houses on the block where Park Place is being built now

Is Jessica's landing the one with the upper lofts in them that are open?

If so, once I had this girl up there smashing not noticing my friends were down stairs listening (prolly bearing off) and at the end the girl say "don't put it in my hair... you fricker it's IN MY HAIR" and then all you hear is 2-3 people downstairs just bust out laughing.... she threw her clothes on and got the frick out...

That's my CSB Jessica landing
