This is why I don’t like it. Taxpayers and fans are subsidizing the minor league NFL. Hope one day these athletes will have to pay for tuition instead of getting that for free while making this money.

You should pay for the use of pool.

Seriously though, the NCAA sucks and college football is now a professional sports league.
It's going to suck going forward.

will they still get "scholarships?" they should probably just do away that whole farce

Their tuition should be cooked into their pay from the school. I am sure the schools will structure it in a way that they it will tax breaks.

if they continue the "student-athlete" farce I wonder what happens when they flunk out or become academically ineligible?

I have been watching less and less every week. Nobody cares about AAA baseball, and the NCAA is spending tons of money to get there.

The ever increasing TV timeouts have bled my interest.

In 2014 Wilken ruled against the NCAA in O'Bannon v. NCAA, saying that the organization violated the Sherman Antitrust Act by prohibiting universities from giving student-athletes a share of the revenues earned when their image and personal details were broadcast over television or through other contracts. For this, in 2014 she was named one of ESPNW's Impact 25.

I've lost 95% of my interest in the sport. Mostly watch highlights of games on youtube.

It's not college football anymore. It's just football that happens to be at a college now.

Clickbait title.

This isn't done yet, and not really close to being finalized.

fricking worst thing to happen to college football. Its not even fun to watch watch anymore with players switching schools every year .. it might as well be a called junior nfl league and do away with college entirely

It's essentially what they are doing in partnerships with the schools. See the articles yesterday about private equity, Disney and P4 conferences forming a Super League. They can't form a private minor league football league because there would be zero interest from the consumers. Instead they need to partner with the schools in order to sell to their loyal fan bases.

Lost in all of this pay the player BS is that most people fill the stadiums and watch the games on TV to root for letters on the helmet not the ones on the back of the jersey!

How much do I get for the 13 swim practices I went to at LSU before I shredded my shoulders and had to quit swimming?

Was talking to BR native Braden Halloway about D1 swimming's future. He firmly believed when we spoke last year in Nola that Olympic sports would be gone in D1 and the NCAA would not be a governing body in ten years. This will strengthen D2 and NAIA quality, but your major players will fund football and basketball and then the ones already established in the niche sports would fully fund those sports. Schools will go the club model. Like may South American and European countries, schools will focus on limited sports and be go all in in just a few.
