I am actually shocked the local government supports the wwii museum. (They probably dont, but cant find an angle to bolster their agenda)

Give it time. Someone in the city administration, or some SJW wanna be, will eventually realize that US forces were segregated during WW II. Then the museum will be labeled as a shrine to institutionalized racism.

However, the museum being an affront to delicate SJW and African American sensibilities could probably be cured by the museum hiring a consulting firm, owned at arms length by some local politico or connected group, to consult on how to be more "inclusive". See the playbook perfected by Jesse Jackson's group.

So goes New Orleans corruption.

Still and all can't wait for my next visit.

This museum is one of the smarter investments they have made. It's pure investment into tourism and history

It will never be ready in time.

I’ve seen better canopies in the quad.

Where will they hang the truck nuts.

N.O. > B.R.

They should relocate to St george.

My boy got call of duty WWII from the Easter bunny. I told him he's going to the museum.

He probably thinks they've got a Nazi zombies exhibit.

Quit giving your kid stuff that doesn’t do any good for him.

I'd love to see images projected onto the underside of the canopy at night.

It's be pretty cool if they simulated an armada of B-17's flying over complete with sound.

I don't get the point of the canopy. It just seems like a massive waste of money that will come loose in a hurricane.

In today's economy 14 million for a visual metaphor is cheap.

That museum is the best damn thing to happen to New Orleans since Andy Jackson ran the British off.

Spoken by a douche from Georgia. A State with exactly 2 cities worth preserving(Savannah & Athens).

Get back in your track house/strip mall you fricking plebeian.

I'm not sure if there is any tie in the this canopy, but I have seen a presentation from the WWII Museum which showed that something similar is in the works. IIRC, they will be projecting, with sound, different events (news casts, musical performance, etc.) from that era on one, or more, side(s) of the building. It looked pretty awesome.
