Someone is telling me that before colonists arrived, the Indians were constantly high on shrooms. Y’all ever heard of this?

Yes, and we “saved and freed” them from their own destruction just like we still “save and free” so many countries still.

They did, and still do, use a wide range of hallucinogenic plants/compounds for spiritual practices. It’s legalized when approved for spiritual practices in several areas in the US.

You think the colonists didn’t use them as well? Natural hallucinogens have been responsible for countless human advances.

When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, Medicine Man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex.

Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.

Some Indian chief somewhere

Did a Mayan cave tour and was told this as well. They would use mushrooms in ceremonial settings. And they would cut their tongues open, apparently.

They contain lysergic acid amide, which is a cousin of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD)

It won't be fun to just eat them or drink water soaked in them, you would get sick as shite and purge like a motherfricker (which was part of the natives' ritual), you will trip though

One can do a chemical extraction to get rid of the nasty stuff, though.
