Did the National Guard members in NO actually do anything to reduce crime, or was it all just for show?

I think they did 2 things.

One, they were simply a presence.

Two, I think their presence freed up cops to do actual cop things.

She made a mistake. Now she understands how they could help.

Or she is probably just doing the adult thing and thanking the individuals for their service and sacrifice.

She should respond to Landry thanking him for his sacrifice as well. Probably beneath her.

Things are about to get VERY BAD in New Orleans

You’re a fool if you are even considering going to the Quarter after dark for the foreseeable future

No normal person with half a brain thought removing statues would help crime. A few fat arse hood rat women and some liberals claimed it, but not normal people.

And I hated that they removed most statues and renamed streets. frick all of that feel good crap.

I’d suggest more outreach to the hood rats and liberals in the community then. maybe some programs.

Were the Guard members doing things that cops had previously been doing?

(I'm not being snarky, I genuinely don't know.)

Foot patrols and some crowd control.

They didn't really replace as much as accentuate NOPD and LSP.

So given that Latoya the Destroya left NOLA in terrible financial condition and almost broke, you figure morale in the NOPD must be low. Which leads me to ask - So when does Abdul and his merry terrorist make another visit to "The Bid Easy" Remember 14 people died in that terrorist attack on January 1, 2025.

Which brings me to make a suggestion to Governor Jeff Landry - don't let those National Guardsman wander far from New Orleans.

Does everything and every city the democrats touch turn to ghetto?

President Trump and Govenor Jeff Landry are right about........everything.

The Guard needs to stay there to 10 years or longer to change criminal behavior. Twenty years would be better, but the hoodlums and crime will quickly be back.

Just an FYI, murders in Nola are like at a 30 year low and last year would have been really low if not for the terror attack.
I would still like the guard to remain in the city even if it had to be in reduced numbers.

mean, not a fan of the guy either, but he's got a point. Thanking the NG for protecting the streets after she complained about them being there and even went as far as to say they didnt help prevent crime is pretty on par for New Orleans politics.

This. Landry has done some stupid stuff. This wasn’t one of them. I wish they’d expand this.

Scratch that. I wish they would force the leaders in this state to start fixing this bullshite.
