You need to post this on the Poliboard, where everybody is still sucking Drumpf's dick.

don't you know? We're not allowed to talk about gas prices on this website. We must destroy Iran, and if that means paying $4.00 dollars a gallon for gas, then you better like it.

Just paid $3.599/gallon at my hood Buc-ees.

But also paid $3 more for a sixer of Art Cars than I would have at HEB.

I hadn't been paying much attention here in Indiana, but have been a little surprised our prices are so much lower than what a lot of people are saying.

It turns out the governor unilaterally suspended both the gasoline sales tax (last April) and the gasoline excise tax (in May), and has been extending the suspensions unilaterally since then.

That's kind of nice when I go to fill up, but the excise part of that tax is what funds infrastructure here, and I fear there's going to be mother hell to pay when the roads fall apart and there's no money to fix them.

Oh well, what the hell, that's a problem for another day, I guess.

I read an article on that yesterday. Guess this means we’re at a very high risk for diesel prices to shoot up?

In theory the price has already shot up. That $100/bbl will stay constant with the price of oil until the Crack has time to correct. We are 35cpg from the highest diesel average of all time at the pump. The only thing keeping diesel prices low is the relavely low price of oil.

IF oil takes a jump to $120/bbl add another $1-2/gal to diesel to make up for the raw material cost.

Likely the market wouldn't support that though as their would be demand destruction, but the impact would be immediate. There would also be a huge reduction in buyers and then that turns to shortages. No one wants to pay $220/bbl of diesel and then take the risk of the market disappearing and them still holding the bbl.

Yeah, gasoline isn't really a problem. We're headed for a diesel and aviation fuel crisis.

The U.S. is about to throw the nukes at Iran. Oil will be free in the near future.

Its hilarious how everyone freaks about gas prices because they have to swipe their card for that. The world runs on distillate and everything else you buy in life, personally and professionally, got there via distillate fuel.

Probably better framed that the gasoline problem is being dwarfed by the distillate problem.

Gasoline cracks are near all time highs as well.

These issues are tangentially connected to hormuz but the real solution won't be realized with opening the strait.

Hopefully it forces some alternative transportation avenues to open up and relieves long term dependency on a narrow strait passing through a historically unstable location. Ive been seeing talks of new pipelines but I doubt anything is actually happening. Securing a pipeline in that region wouldnt be any easier than securing the strait.

What we REALLY need is a western hemisphere supply chain that can support our demand and totally eliminate middle eastern oil from our economy.
