Laws of the Trace-

Motorized traffic must yield to bicycles.*

You are not allowed to tow or haul anything on a vehicle, unless it is for recreational purposes.

Commercial vehicles are prohibited.

*Any cyclist that rides side by side in a lane is asking for it.

Yeah he threw the bike at me. Wait there's video? I mean, I didn't know I hit him. Yeah that's the ticket.

What an idiot

Right, I get that it's a federal hwy, didn't know the Feds investigated traffic incidents.

They do on federal property like Natchez Trace. Think of the Natchez Trace like a National Park or a federal facility.

The guy who hit him is just as big of a douche. And I don't feel bad for him getting arrested.

Whole situation could have been avoided if the douchebag cyclist was riding in a single file line.

To recap, both are giant douche bags. And both deserve what happened to them respectively

So a guy riding in the middle lane legally and a guy who hit a cyclist, ran, lied to a federal agent, and tried to destroy evidence... are both equally douchebags?

Are you an idiot?

Yeah he is, the trace is a road known for bicycles to be all over it. If you have a problem with them, you should probably stay off that road. It's a road built for solely recreational purposes, it's there for people to enjoy the use of it.

Why was the cyclist in the road? Was there no sidewalk for him to ride on?

I'm guessing you've never been on this section of the Natchez Trace.

Riding on a sidewalk is illegal and dangerous to both cyclists and pedestrians.

This thread just justifies why I don't ride a bicycle anywhere in the southern US.

Hundreds of people ride their bike on the Trace daily without incident. Occasionally you get someone selfish and hateful enough to think that no one else belongs on the road unless they are just like them. Thankfully we see less and less of these kind of people around these days. They are slowly dying off or opening their eyes to see there is more to life than hate. This guy deserves every bit of the 37 years but I doubt he will end up getting it. Maybe 10. Anyway, it's just great to see he was caught and will pay the price.

Off road biking is the only true form.

Most of the cycling haters on here would get a kick out of watching this. The crashes are spectacular.

Sure, riding side by side is just as bad as hitting someone with a car. Got it.
