Its a bunch of drunk college kids. Fights are inevitable. I don't think someone getting into a fight at a bar near campus, while in college really means they are trash. Is it trashy? Sure, but it just sort of comes with the territory.
Why do people make such a big deal about fights now? It seemed like it use to be somewhat a "normal" event.
Do they still have fights in the student section at home game on a regular basis?

Yeah I don't think anyone is making a big deal about a fight in general. It's the fact that multiple dudes were kicked in the head and could have easily been killed. That ain't a normal fight.

I'd imagine most bars policy is to get them the frick out of the bar and that's it. I doubt they want their employees in the middle of melees like that trying to keep the peace, much more risk for them there

Bouncers pursuing fights outside of the bars is a big no-no especially for college bars like those. Not saying it doesn't happen but that's a quick way to get your bar in serious shite
