Close buddy of mine owns a commercial painting business and apparently a lot of the jobs he does he offers a big cash discount so he had numerous gallon-sized baggies of cash in a large gun safe in his closet, probably around $500k.
When he got divorced, his wife ratted him out to her lawyer, and they got a subpoena for all of the money, now he’s in big trouble with the IRS for back taxes.
She took photographs of everything inside there, he also had viles of injectable steroids and small bags of weed clearly visible in the pictures.
She was crazy...hot AF and apparently an animal in the sack. But crazy AF. Sad story.

Honestly, you’ve been the best resource for people who think marriage is all cuddly.
I hope your posts have made others to think again.
But this is TD. Thinkers are at a premium.
The flip side of this is that not all women are lying, cheating whores. Some people don't choose poorly

My divorce from the bat-shite crazy woman ten years ago. I don't want to talk about it.

Been in similar situations. Quit doing family court work after about 20 years of it. Seemed like every case as about lies told by parties and by a lot of the attorneys. Not all the attorneys but enough of them. Had more than one woman who got the hell beat out of her and then within a few weeks dropped the case and reconciled, only to have a worse beating a few months later.

My ex broke into my house while I was on vacation with our kids (whom I had and have full time) and lit it on fire. Luckily, my neighbor saw the smoke and called 911. Saw her exiting my house with a gas can. She was arrested later that day.

She counters that I continue to pay all expenses, her affair partner still lives on the property,
My ex asked for similar and I countered with Ill burn the fricking house down before that happens.

Spent 4 days in jail. Because she no priors before, she was put into some program and it was expunged from her record. She ended up having to pay me child support each month even though I make 5xs what she makes.

I’m legitimately surprised she didn’t end up dead.

seems like a lot of effort and law breaking to get 250K and being essentially banned from the country

Lou Pai of Enron has my favorite divorce story. Wife found out he was going to strip clubs and cheating on her. Divorce forced him to cash out 250 million worth of Enron shares months before the company calasped
he married the stripper he was banging and they own a mountain in Colorado now

It’s not exactly a horror story—just a classic case of youthful poor judgment. I got married young, mostly because I didn’t want to live in the barracks or stay on base after joining the Army. I’ll admit it—I was young, impulsive, and not particularly wise at the time. But hey, it worked—I never spent a single day living on base during my entire enlistment.
As you might guess, the marriage didn’t last. We decided to split not long after I received deployment orders to Iraq. At the time, North Carolina required a one-year separation before a divorce could be finalized. She moved back home, and I wanted to keep the separation pay while deployed. I didn’t think she deserved a dime of it.
So we struck a deal: I’d keep the separation pay, and no one else would go on my SGLI (life insurance). If I got killed, she’d collect the payout.
Let’s just say I’m pretty sure she was rooting for me to come back in several pieces.
But I didn’t.
I came back in one.
I won.
