Wow thats sparce. I remember the days when the stands were packed like sardines. NASCAR like the NHRA really have screwed the pooch. It use to be you followed Marques and picked a driver who have had this thing called a personality. Now the cars are really all the same, none of which the average person can relate too. The drivers are a talking sponsorship board devoid of character. All that spells boring.

They were done once they introduced restricter plates. it erroded the sense of awww that a driver was riding at the literal edge and performing the moves neccessary to win.
After RP's came a steady decline of things like the "Car of tomorrow" and a slew of rules to make NASCAR mainstream

Remember when drivers fought after the race (or sometimes during the race)?
NASCAR lost it's way when the country Dale Earnhardt types got replaced by the corporate Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson types.
Tony Stewart tried to walk the line between both styles for a while, but he eventually lost his edge and to me the whole thing got really boring without any bad guys to root for/against.
ETA: They also screwed up by making everything too "family friendly," which was nice if you took your kids, but not so nice if you just wanted to roll up with your baws and enjoy the excitement of the camping areas.

I have no desire to wave a confederate battle flag, but I simply cannot help but want to vomit with all this embarrassing arse kissing going on. It’s pretty sickening, and it won’t be respected. I promise you. People who didn’t watch it already are not going to come to a NASCAR race or tune in because you finally banned the CSA Battle Flag. They just laugh and feel empowered because they were able to shame you and make you do a dance for them. Pathetic pandering invertebrates. It’s hard to respect someone when they’re bent down on one knee kissing your arse.
