I don’t know how they make a Rocket big enough to launch the astronauts’ steel balls into orbit.

I'm surprised the emergency escape only pulls 3.5 G's. I'd have guessed way more than that.

Its probably thrust limited to hold at that threshold. Sustained G forces higher than that basically incapacitates the response of pilots.

I remember in middle school or junior high going on a field trip to one of the space centers to do a mission control simulation. We spent all day there and were met with different scenarios and had to make decisions for a safe mission. We all had different roles. It was the highlight of the year.

All the cutting edge technology NASA has at their disposal and we can't get an HD camera feed?

Just like in Mercury/Apollo days, this thing is being shot up by a bunch of young engineers. They're allowed to say "awesome" and "cool."

I was in high school performing at a JROTC competition on Columbia's failed landing day

They used to have a Challenger Learning Center in Baton Rouge with a mission control/space mission for the school kids.

What I wouldn’t have done to get on Double Dare.

My parents called the 800 number on all the commercials back then, and drove me to Alabama from Michigan for a week. It was such a cool experience. One of those things I can appreciate so much more as an adult, realizing what my parents did for us.

Same. I went to space camp when I was 12 (total nerd). Seeing a launch would be amazing.

Try to target one of the super heavies coming out soon.

Either the SpaceX Starship or the the SLS Block 2.

It doesn't matter that you are six miles out. You don't hear those engines. You feel them reverberating in your gut.
