i would love to see NASA defund Elon completely and then 6 months before the asteroid hits beg him to build a rocket to intercept it.

You know NASA still does stuff. Pretty neat stuff,, like intercepting asteroids.

Just clicked your link and it says odds are 1-32, or 3.1%

When I was in jail for the weekend in Las Vegas the holding cell TV played Armageddon and Gone in 60 Seconds on an endless repeat loop

Saw Armageddon at least 9 times in that cell

Auburn and Tennessee probably play in 2032. That's when and where it's gonna hit.

According to NASA, the odds of collision in 2032 have been edging up from a 1-in-83 chance since it was first spotted. It has since moved to 1-in-67, to 1-in-53, to 1-in-43 and now to 1-in-38. The European Space Agency has slightly different odds, currently giving the asteroid a 2.41 per cent chance of collision.

Yeah, dont talk to me about odds. My family has a football season long contest each year. We predict each game and then total points missed and add them up. Whoever has lowest score at season's end wins. Remember that bowl game (i think 2020) where we had a wide receiver playing QB? And he threw that last second pass that crossed the goal line with 00 left on clock? THAT cost me the season win by one point.

Right. That's why is like tracking a hurricane.

It’s still a bad comparison.

A hurricane is literally a tempest in constant flux, which is where the uncertainty comes from. Certain elements present now might be muted when it interacts with other atmospheric elements, changing the result.

Even if you had 100% of the data there is to know about a hurricane, the value of that data degrades every minute.

For this, if you had 100% of the data you could project its exact location for thousands of years with 100% accuracy.

It’s going to miss us by millions of miles and they will clatter about how close it came to us and how we need to pay taxes to fix some problem that we have absolutely no control over.

Just do like they did in the movie. It's an easy fix. Hire the same crew, the ones still living. Too bad Harry Stamper didn't make it bc he's now failed at digging a hole he started on.

That would be a wild day of live coverage. ABC news (or whoever) having live stream cameras of a city bracing for impact.

I did the calculations today
with the Earth's rotation and where the asteroid is and approximate speeds and it's going to hit the city of Medjugorje Bosnia
