Nardo gray, primer gray, battleship gray, porch gray. What's the difference?

I call it Battleship Gray. It looks good on some vehicles, like trucks.

It matches the road closely in color. Those are hard too see at times and get in wrecks more often.

We don't need to see a primer gray car on the road.

Audi flavor it is shiney and great. Many of the other manufacturers made it matte or satin.

It's not matte, satin or shiney.

No matter what manufacturer it's coming from, it's flat and non-metallic.

"Nardo" LOL. Call it what it actually is - Wehrmacht Gray. Krauts gettin' uppity again.

I do like it on performance cars though.

Like many car paint names (especially Euro manufacturers) it is named for a track. After all, it is sexier than Y7C. In this case, the color's namesake is the Nardo Ring in Nardo Italy. It is a high-speed round test track originally owned by Fiat and sold to another Italian company and then to Porsche about 10 years ago.

Nardo is a common nickname in Italian for Leanardo and I assume in some way shape or form is how the city got its name.

Depending on when he bought the 918 his allocation faucet is about to dry up* and drain back out to the mere mortals. In retrospect it is funny they had to give 10 years of allocations away to buyers just to sell 918s and now just 8-10 years later they go for over twice retail. *He will still have status at PNA but not the automatic allocations he enjoyed
yeah by now he has such a relationship with the dealer I don’t think he’ll have a problem. He’s 82 anyway and still drives the crap out of his cars and does it well. As far as modern cars he has a CGT he drives a ton. He has a gt2rs, speedster PTS arena red, 991 3RS, Dakar, sport classic PtS gulf blue. He also has several race cars and classics.

I've seen this look with other colors. It's just a regular color minus the metal flake.

Nardo gray is a color chosen by Audi in 2013 for their new RS7. Since featuring this color, many other vehicle companies copied their lead and introduced a similar color availability for their cars and SUVs

Toyota named it Cement Gray and put it on the Scion TC in 2011

It's called Haze Gray.

And yes it's totally over marketed and has run its course.

Nardo won’t forget you…

“On December 19, 2010, actress Marilu Henner was featured on the U.S. television program 60 Minutes for her superior autobiographical memory ability. Henner claimed she could remember almost every day of her life since she was 11 years old.The show was initially pitched as a story featuring hyperthymestic violinist Louise Owen, but the reporter Lesley Stahl volunteered her friend Henner as having a similar ability.”

She’s currently 71 years old.

I remember when people made fun of vehicles that was left covered in primer.

Now it’s a thing.

I have a Leadfoot F150, it's a darker "Nardo", but I love it and get lots of compliments on it.

For the ones that like it, check out what it means in Spanish, at least in the north:

Noun
nardo m (plural nardos)

nard, spikenard (Nardostachys grandiflora or Nardostachys jatamansi)
(Northern Spain, vulgar) dick, penis

So, yeh, go getcha that penis grey truck! Make your statement!
