Haven't had a good Houston bashing thread in a minute. Dallas is so much better.
I think Houston has much more of a local identity and culture than Dallas does. Dallas is the Texas city that seems lacking in identity to me where almost nobody is from there.

In what way does Memphis lack an identity? It sucks, but it definitely knows who it is.

Riverwalk, Alamo, downtown, Sea World and Six Flags?

The only one I haven’t visited on your list is Hartford, but I agree on the other four.

America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland.
lolwut?
You're saying cities like Seattle, Chicago, Miami, etc. are no different than Cleveland?

It's a Tennessee Williams quote that New Orleans people hang on to from back when it was a great city.

Definitely still applicable with the locals

The most soulless dull cities are in places like Kansas and the flyover states. But let’s just do a list of ones around here....
1) Alexandria, LA
This is the shittiest city on the planet. No explanation needed.
2) Jackson, MS
Sucks
3) Shreveport, LA
Would be the worst city in Louisiana if Alexandria didn’t exist
4) Montgomery, AL
If a toilet took the form of a city, this would be it
5) Beaumont, Tx
Not a horrible place, but nothing going for it either

What is it then?
A sad musuem which is a dump in the middle of the hood honoring Elvis?
Freaking Beale street? 2 crappy blocks of awful boring bars wishing they could be Bourbon Street?
Truly the saddest place I have ever seen.
If FedEx is an identity, then that's it...otherwise, the a-hole of the universe.
