Ok so this will have to have some guidelines to work. Let’s set the benchmark at 1 million metro population, but ideally a lot more.

Another example. New Orleans and to a lesser degree Memphis and Baton Rouge get shite on here relentlessly and rightfully so, but they in no way are dull with no identity. Especially New Orleans. Quite the opposite. Also try to keep emotions out of this like where a best place to raise a kid is and think of it more like where you’d rather visit randomly.

Thread will probably get controversial, but you can leave or get fricked.

My list

1. Houston Texas

Massive city but no one knows anything about it other that O&G. So spread out it’s infuriating. Yes I’ve been there a lot

2. Columbus Ohio

Not much else needs to be said

3. Nashville Tennessee

Yes I said it. Yes it’s been flooded so hard the past couple of decades that no one is from there anymore. The people suck and think they are the shite. Food sucks, traffic sucks, just a collection of random people from all over the south and beyond.

4. Denver Colorado. A lot of the same reasons as Nashville but their food sucks even harder. Cool nature things are a short drive away though. Muh weed kinda kicked it in the teeth

5. Hartford Connecticut

Place just blows and has the same rich dick skinners that have lived there forever. I would have it as number 1 but I think people just forget it exists

Roast me, or post your own list

You picked Columbus. I would’ve picked Cleveland. We’re on the same page, though.

lack of identity

Why is this even important?

Most of those cities have varied "identities" and mean something different to everyone. I would think that's preferable...

Oklahoma City
Indianapolis
Tulsa
Shreveport
Montgomery

Oklahoma City and Indy are perfectly nice towns. I've spent time in both and appreciate them. But they are bland and don't really have an identity.

1. Alexandria, LA

The city you drove through to get to Shreveport.

2. Shreveport, LA

The city you drive through to get to Dallas.

3. Orlando, FL

Yea, it has Disney, but besides that, it is nothing but a bland concrete cityscape.

Just pick any city that grew substantially in the last 40 years....they will have the same traits that now make them blAnd: suburbs and strip centers, shopping malls, a high % of the population that aren’t from there, and cheap office buildings. Houston, Dallas, Sam Antonio, Atlanta, Orlando, Jacksonville, Nashville, Charlotte, Denver, Birmingham, etc. the older parts of those cities all have cool aspects, but it’s shrouded in shite

I might hate it more than any I listed, but it certainly has an identity, although a wretched one

Cincy is in a weird place. It's a midwestern river town, so it has that in common with Pittsburgh. But it lacks Pittsburgh's "east coast" architecture.

The people are more pleasant than in Pittsburgh, but it's sort of the "default" flyover city in film for a reason. St. Louis is cooler.

Completely disagree. I lived there for two years and can confirm that the food there was pretty damn good.
