Naked woman, 53, dumped outside Bronx hospital dies after receiving botched butt injection

A Connecticut woman has died after she was dumped outside a Bronx hospital, unconscious and partially naked, after she reportedly received botched butt injections.
Maxine Messam, of Bridgeport, was left at Jacobi Medical Center on Tuesday after two unidentified women drove her to the hospital in her BMW SUV and walked off.
The 53-year-old was left unconscious and naked from the waist down with needle marks on her body and a foreign substance injected into her buttocks, the NYPD said.
The two unknown women who drove Messam to the hospital told the medical staff they found her in distress asking for help at Woodlawn Cemetery and offered to help her, according to police.
Authorities were later called to the scene around 1:51 a.m. soon after Messam died.
'We don't know what happened,' the victim's shocked husband Carlos Simpson told the New York Daily News. 'She was at work and she left work. So we don't know what happened from there.'
An autopsy has been ordered to reveal her cause of death, which is being investigated due to the suspicious circumstances.
Detectives want to speak with the two women who dropped Messam off at the hospital.
'Everybody is really emotionally damaged at this point in time,' Messam's son, who declined to give his name, said. 'I would like to say something but we don't have all the details.'
The TikTok tag #bbl - Brazilian butt lift - has 4.6 billion views with users showing off their before and after photos and documenting their surgeries, which can cost upward of $7,000.

They left her and her car at the hospital, where was pronounced dead. Multiple injection wounds were found in Messam's rear-side.

No bullshite, this happened to a coworker of someone I know.. Well she wasn't dumped outside of a hospital, but she went to Florida to get some injections for her lips and a few days later she died. This was a few years ago.. So FYI don't ever go get injections at a place that offers discounts.

Poor thing.
Jacobi is a level 1 trama center and teaching hospital. My wife did her 13 weeks there during Covid. Couldn't have picked a better place for her. Connecticut is the next exit off 95.

Case report: Two transsexual males presented to the emergency department with altered consciousness after receiving subcutaneous injections of silicone into the hip and buttocks. Each patient had received injections totaling between one and two liters of silicone. Soon after the injections, each reported feeling nauseated and lethargic, and then lost consciousness. On arrival, each was somnolent, with tachycardia and hypotension. Lungs were clear and there were multiple injection sites of induration noted over the hips and gluteal regions. Laboratory screening showed leukocytosis and hemoconcentration in each, with no drugs found on urine toxicology screening. Chemistries were normal. Both became hypoxic on arterial blood gas analysis. Oxygenation worsened in each despite intubation and ventilator manipulation. Chest radiographs were initially clear but progressively showed adult respiratory distress syndrome. One patient gradually improved over several days, was extubated, and recovered neurologically. The second patient continued to be hypoxic, never regained neurologic function, and expired three weeks after presentation. Post-mortem examination revealed clinical respiratory failure with organizing pneumonia, adult respiratory distress syndrome, and foreign body giant cell reactions to silicone. Additionally, multiple small subacute brain white matter infarcts consistent with silicone embolization were found.
Conclusion: Clandestine application of silicone for body enhancement is common and clinicians should be aware of the potential complications.

I have many questions, but…
…this is where I’d start my investigation. Why was she at a cemetery? Why were the other two at a cemetery? Why was she still half dressed when the two women dropped her off? None of this makes any sense.
