I just caught up on most this thread. The Dennis bag of dicks has me dying laughing. I can’t imagine doing that to a co worker at my place.

“We’re probably best known for our road
work, which usually accounts for the
largest percentage of our business each
year, but there’s not much that we can’t,
or won’t, do,” said Owner/President Kelly
Sills. “In addition to all the construction
services we offer, we own three asphalt
plants in Louisiana (Lafayette, Port Allen
and Convent). We also purchased a plant
near Tampa in Gibsonton, Florida, at
the end of 2015. We use these plants to
supply our own asphalt needs as much
as possible, and we sell to other paving
firms as well.”
Sills was a longtime employee of
Coastal Bridge prior to purchasing it
from second-generation owners Robert
Overall Jr. and Ed Milner Jr.
“I graduated from high school in 1992
and worked for Coastal during summers
while in high school and college,” Sills
recalled. “In fact, during my last couple
of years at LSU, I probably worked close
to 40 hours per week – while attending
classes. I didn’t get much sleep, but it
was a great learning experience on both
ends. My engineering and business
classes complemented what I was doing
everyday on the job, and vice versa. I did
that until I graduated, then joined Coastal
Bridge on a full-time basis, running large
road jobs.”
While working at Coastal, Sills started
a property development business and
did very well. When Overall and Milner
wanted to sell Coastal Bridge in 2012,
they approached Sills.
“I was pretty comfortable at the time,”
Sills noted. “My real estate ventures,
which had crashed during the recession,
were starting to come back. I wasn’t sure
that I wanted to take on the responsibility
of owning Coastal Bridge. Then one of “We’re probably best known for our road

offer to buy the company, and frankly,
I didn’t want them to get it. I thought it
would be better for everybody involved,
especially our employees, if I owned it.
So, some friends helped me put together
a plan, I found a bank willing to back me,
and that was that. We made the deal in
December 2012.”

Sills cites Coastal Bridge employees
as a major factor in the company’s
success. Key personnel include Bridge
and Marine Division Manager Devon
Overall; Industrial Plant Services
Manager Dennis Mannino; Highway
and Road Construction Manager Tony
Garcia; Modular Buildings Manager
Barb Nemerovsk; and Heavy Hauling
and Logistics Manager Stonie Roger.

I’ve found four federal complaints against him and his companies for violations of the fair labor standards act on PACER. No telling what state actions he has against him

Seems like he decided not to after all.

everytime I come back it's another shocker. So he is calling you backstabber when he tried to whistleblow his friend Kelly?

I hope a Journalist is getting all this. Does that Nakamaoto guy post here? I know some NOLA reporters do, but they likely consider this BR news.

My biggest takeaway from all of this is how sad it is that we don't have a better system in place to take care of workers screwed over by employers. Such as the guy who paid his medical premiums then was told they weren't
t paid he was uninsured. That money should be pulled right away from the company and the man's bills should be paid. If Kelly is bankrupt his houses and boats should be seized until employees are taken care of.

Not only is this thread of the year, we may be seeing the largest Louisiana business implosion in years.

On top of that, CB doesn't owe the state 500k and even if they have piled up 750k in late fees since 2012, they do 70 million a year. So lets see, 70 million x 6 years is 420 million dollars making 750k less than 1% of total revenue

Well no, that’s what’s accrued. And at this point it’s plausible to believe they have revenue of 70M and are operating at a net loss of 4-6M annually.

How many projects has the state recouped LDs? Same contractors doing shitty work, assuming LDs, late, keep getting jobs.

Me? Nothing.

I knew Dixie when she worked at mikes and saw Kelly quite a good bit at my old job. I thought he was a douche from the first time I met him. That’s all I got.

I just love the drama since I know 2 of the players

Who's Dixie? I think I skimmed past that name and didn't put it in context with the rest of the players.

By Mikes, are we talking about Big Mike's in Denham?
