Eh, a public official should know better than to text that. She's either stupid or she's extremely complacent.

Autocorrect suggested this to me the other day when I was trying to type "Mike's". Guess my phone thinks I'm more likely a racist than friends with a guy named Mike.

You don't seem to get it. She was also using a parish phone to explicitly try and concoct a way to get another well-liked employee fired

interesting that she was recently in the news for something else: LINK

quote:

CLINTON — After hesitating on a vote last week, the East Feliciana Parish Police Jury agreed Tuesday to sidestep its established policy and pay the parish manager for unused vacation time.

Under a "use it or lose it" policy, jury employees are allowed to carry over up to 40 hours of unused vacation time into the next year, but jury President Louis Kent called Parish Manager Barbara Vail's predicament "a unique situation" because of extenuating circumstances throughout 2016.

If Vail carries 40 hours over to 2017, she still could have 158 hours of vacation time to her credit.

Vail became parish manager in January and did double duty as jury secretary until jurors filled her old position. She said she also had to train several new employees and deal with problems associated with the August flooding. She said she is continuing to work on flood-related paperwork.

Personnel Committee Chairman Ed Brooks on Nov. 7 proposed paying Vail $4,700 for 158 hours and allowing her to roll another 40 hours into the new year, but several jurors questioned whether changing the rules for one employee would be fair to other employees.

Brooks finally decided to table the matter rather than bring it to a vote but he brought it back Tuesday when no one objected to paying her for any part of the 158 hours she still has at the end of the year.

After seeing photos of her, she definitely deserves to be fired.

Well that should probably be the headline. The n word thing seems incidental in comparison. But probably not as catchy.

So you think it's a-okay to use your government issues phones to make racial slurs while talking about trying to get someone fired?

You don't seem to get it. She was trying to find a reason to get a government employee fired in texting that on a government provided phone. The government there said they do not condone that kind of stuff and suspended her. Do you have a problem with that?
Yeah, keep the government's hands off of his government hiring/firing procedures.

Ahhh, so they shouldn't check all the white people's phones, but just the black employees?

You don't sound racist...at all.

How's that relevant to this discussion?

Are you trying to insinuate the N word isn't an offensive word? You might be racist if...

i don't think the word should be banned by anyone. Trying to get someone fired should be the issue not using the word

we use government issued drones to kill people- sometimes our own citizens.
We use government issued technology to snoop, surveil, and prosecute our own citizens.

So yes, I think saying a racial slur on a govt phone is petty shite that demands nothing more than an eamiled reprimand if any response at all.
Grow the frick up.
