Me or kid played in 20-30 games/tournaments that never would have happened without some diesel gasoline and a lighter.

One of my classmates dad would get 3 or 4 propane bottles and flamethrowers and have his employees from his car lot drying out the infield of the fields we played on all the damn time. Worked more often than not.

we used gas to kill the grass around home plate in high school. poured the gas where we didnt want the grass then one of my team mates set it on fire.... almost ended badly for my teamate...

Used to do that all the time in the 70's. I don't know if it was diesel or kerosene they used but it dried the dirt infield out.

Supposed to use diesel. It was a common thing in the 70’s. At least in Jefferson Parish and Kenner.
