my last one was $367, but we added a pool that came online and currently projecting $728 for june 15th-july 15th. this is for 5100sf living, brand new with spray foam.
with my kids and mother in law being home all day, i knew it would be higher but 700 plus is crazy.
as far as plan of attack...pay the mother fricker and soak up all the AC i can really. I will make sure we keep doors closed and possible raise the AC a degree or 2 at most but i will pay it all day to be comforable. Not gonna cut back on pool pump as its brand new and just getting chemicals lined out really.

5. Look into a humidifier. I am at around 55% humidity.
Why would you need a humidifier? 55% is where you want it, and it is easier/more efficient to cool at a lower humidity.

Got my bill… $308.62. I’m very relieved! It’s not even my highest ever - which was $354.82. I had the central air on probably 70-71 during the day and 68 at night the whole time. Guess I’m not gonna go broke afterall.

What kind of houses do you live In? Ours is insulated it holds at 71 even if it’s 100 outside.

If you set your t stat in the upper 79’s and it runs all day, you need to get your system checked out quick

My house in BR is 2400 sq feet built in 96. I set it at 77/78 in the day and 73 at night. Sometimes I’ll turn it down to 75 in the day since it’s also my office but I use ceiling fans. My bill was $207. That’s the highest of the year so far. The last 2 months have been $108 and $120. I was expecting $300 based on the buzz I’ve heard.I have no idea why I haven’t been hammered.
