Remains empty. As it has from the start. All part of the panic and big lie.

What's scarier, the virus or the Govts response? I know what has caused more damage

John Bel said we needed 12,000 ventilators

Right now we're using 261 for Covid

It isn’t a gotcha.

It is a clear cut statement of fact.

The LA government wasted over $100 million on a hospital that isn’t going to be used by any significant number of patients so that JBE could try to drag more money out of the federal government.

How are people still not accepting this?

They aren’t even trying to hide it.

Pretty sure most people knew it would be nothing more than a scam

Would have been a nice down payment on the South Baton Rouge river bridge that we can't seem to find any money for.

Is it better to have it and not have needed it?

Or to have needed it and not have it?

$100M dude

it never came close to being needed

your argument only works in an exponentially different scenario

How does it take 100 million to convert a convention center into a temporary hospital that was barely even used?

Simply put the Governor and N O Mayer doubled down on the Panic.

And now they manipulate numbers to support their mistakes and decisions.

I can tell you want the State to remain shut down - just in case.

The Convention Center gets some federal money to plug the huge hole in their budget. See how this works? It's a shell game.

To me, there was no harm in that part being prepared just in case. All it really cost was money*. Everything was shut down anyway and no conventions were going to go on.

Other things, go ahead and discuss the potential costs vs. benefits.

* ETA - assuming of course the Feds end up picking up the tab.

What kind of stupid fricking third grade argument is this?

I bet you are one of the people who view the stimulus payments as "free money" too. No motherfrickers, its OUR MONEY that the government is spending. Your grandchildren are going to be paying this shite back.
