My younger cousin has a baby and is feeling the pressure to commit.

I told him:
"Just because you are having a kid by her doesn't necessarily mean you HAVE to be with her"
His mother overheard me and to her chagrin said:
"Don't tell my son that nonsense"
I said if he feels like he's going to be miserable getting tied down to someone he really doesn't have feelings for, it's only going to lead to disaster....for all three of them.
Right or wrong here?
I've been through the shotgun commitment thing before, and it's dreadful.

Why in the hell would he get a chick he doesn't really care for pregnant? He's probably lying to you bc she is probably ugly, even to y'alls trailer park standard.
