I'm not against giving a gift...I'm more offended that the gift is expected.

These threads make it so easy to spot who is married and who isn’t.

I just gave my wife flowers after each of my boys were born.

Never heard of it and my wife has pushed three times. Sounds like something trashy people do, like money dances and gender reveal parties.

Your wife must've been watching "According to Jim"...

God forbid you give your wife something nice for risking her life and ruining her figure to have your child

I told my wife she was getting an epidural for her push present. It didn’t go over so well but she eventually got over it. Grow some balls!

"There was once a prominent Creole judge who, with true Creole values of courtliness, paid his wife a formal call each time she bore him a child, which was practically every year. A few hours after the birth he would don his most formal attire, including tall silk hat, long cape and cane, step into her bedchamber, remove his hat with a sweeping bow, and present her with a bouquet and his congratulations"
From The Creoles, Gumbo Ya-Ya
This sounds customary

You think Skeeter from the trailer park gives a push gift?
It’s a wealthy thing. You wouldn’t understand.

You’re supposed get her a very nice piece of jewelry from like Lee Michaels or something to commemorate the auspicious occasion.
If you do not, it’s trashy.
If you do not, it’s trashy.

It’s a thing but my wife “compromised” and we went on a vacation instead of a “gift”

No. The baby industry is an even bigger scam than the wedding industrial complex.
Eta: I wouldn't be opposed to a gift but not if anyone says the term "push present" in my presence. I'll push your fat bloated arse out the hospital window.
