Guy lives 2 doors down from me. Good neighbor. Has a pool, takes care of his property.

It started off about a month ago when two hens started coming around my back yard in the evening. He kept them in a cage and would let them wander once a day. I think they are Buff Orpingtons. Big pretty chickens.

Then about 2 weeks ago I see a third bird in the cage and it's huge. I'm like oh no. Sure enough, that motherfricker starts crowing at 5am and doesn't stop until after 8.

Do I call the JP sheriff on a rooster? I have no idea about the rules on chickens in a subdivision.

Tie a Molotov cocktail to a remote control plane and fly it over his yard while blaring Born in the USA

Call the sheriff and ask if it is allowed. Go on from there.

Or you could tell the neighbor to deal with it first. Then if that doesnt work call the law.

You should probably start getting in the bed earlier to adjust.

Poultry is considered to be a farm animal and most subdivision restrictions clearly state farm animals aren't allowed.

I doubt the cops can do much for you but you can pursue him violating subdivision restrictions.

Embrace the reason why you do not live in an HOA and accept it.

Agreed. I don't see anything in JP ordinances forbidding owning a rooster.

That’s his Thanksgiving and Christmas back up plan with food shortages and inflation, cut him some slack.
