Naaa. I will tell my kids don't even think about it till 25 at least. Live as a single adult a few years before getting married.

I was 23 when I got married. My dad said it was a "mistake I would never overcome". Married now 30 years, 3 daughters (1 in grad school at Maryland, 1 going to college next year and 1 a year later). I have had a wonderful life so far with a wonderful wife.

Lighten up dad and have another swig. Great day for you and your son. Cheers.

I was married at 21. Wouldn’t change it one bit. 2 beautiful children and a wife that has my back over anyone. My mom and dad had me when they was 15 they are still together. It’s what you make of it. Give him a break let him live his life. Just be there to support him.

I am in the marry later camp but my nephew married at 19 as soon as his wife graduated and they are doing great. There are probably actual stats out there somewhere rather than anecdotes but I am not driven to look them up. Everybody's situation is different.

Nephew didn't have to get married, had first kid a year out of college, they have their lives planned out on a spreadsheet

Other nephew is a priest so he will be taking the opposite route

I got married at 24, and my wife (no pics) was 22. We struggled financially for a while, and it was a bit rough. 13.5 years later, we are doing great, with 3 wonderful kids.

Nice. My son is 21 and he is "engaged" to his girlfriend.

I am not as concerned as you about it. If he could go ahead and get married, that would be one out and one to go. My other is 16 and may live with us forever.

So to everyone with this mindset, what is the right age?

Everyone is different. I know plenty of people that married young and are doing just fine, and others that aren't. It's all about the people involved. Some people should just never get married, doesn't matter the age.

Age doesn't have anything to do with it. Some people are more mature and more financially stable (or at least more financially responsible) at 23 than others.

I think marrying at 30 you miss out on a lot. There’s something great about being in love, married, having a kid, broke, and all the challenges to find your way in life. 23 is a great age

Don't worry, chances are he'll be divorced within five years.

Waiting till you're thirty is way too long, imho

What kind of fricked up logic is this? Just because you married the first girl that ever kissed you doesn’t mean everyone else should.
