It’s all happened so fast that we’re still processing everything. We have a new lease while the donor and their family’s came to an end. It’s heavy shite and an emotional wringer.

can only imagine how emotional that is,damn.
Good luck!

I pray that everything goes smoothly with his transplant surgery and that his recovery is without any issues.

Thank you for your post. It gave me a needed reminder of the blessings I do have when it's very easy to focus on those I don't.

May God continue to Bless you and your family

Stories like hours are why I cannot understand why anyone would not want to be on the donor list

My dad died in an accident, but our loss allowed many others to benefit and provided the ability for other legacies to continue on.

becoming an organ donor is perhaps the easiest thing you will ever do, and it could save a life or many lives. Good luck and good vibes to your son OP

I remember seeing this story a few years ago....

The man walking the bride down the aisle is not her father...but the recipient of her father's heart.

LINK

quote:

Weddings are always emotional, but for Pennsylvania bride Jeni Stepien, the special occasion was particularly poignant. The night before her wedding to Paul Maenner, Jeni met Arthur Thomas—the man who has her late father's heart—and asked him to give her away. Jeni's father, Michael Stepien, was murdered in an armed robbery in 2006. He gave all of his organs away, including the heart that Arthur Thomas had been waiting sixteen years to receive. At the time, Arthur was on his deathbed, so the heart truly saved his life. On Friday, he and his wife traveled from their home in New Jersey to Swissvale, Pennsylvania, to meet the daughters of his organ donor—and let them hear their father's heart beating again for the first time in ten years.

Best wishes to your son. Know it’s bittersweet thinking of the donor’s family but they must get some comfort knowing part of their loved one lives on in someone else and that they gave a wonderful gift.

God bless you and your son. You sound like an amazing father. Prayers for a successful procedure and God's peace to the donor family.
