My small garage sell finds today & my new $1 challenge for myself

I spent $12 total today. Kenilworth had a neighborhood wide sale today, but it has sucked the last couple years, the same this year.
As for the challenge, I’ve kind of gotten burnt out on my hobby the last few months. Covid kind of spoiled me. During those two years, I probably made $80K off my hobby. To make my hobby fun again, I’ve decided to see how quickly I can turn $1 into $1000. I will use the Western Auto needle kits as my start, since I paid $1 for them. I will take only the profit I make off these to my next garage sell, flip those for profit, etc, until I break $1000.
$1 - old LSU patches
$1 - a bunch of old sewing needle kits. There’s about 20 of the Western Auto kits, most brand new.
$3 - old sewing scissors including a pair made by Case
$1- Klein pocket knife
$1 - Leatherman
$5 - 80’s/90’s Radio Shack RC car

Leatherman for $1 is legit.

I’m kinda disappointed. I like your old threads.
Side note. Did you start a business to actually do all of this or just do it will personal bank accounts?

For sure, they don't even make the original PST anymore.
Nice find!

with inflation those 49 cent sowing kits are definitely worth $1

But do the math:
RC car ~$30
Knife ~ $15
Leatherman ~$25
Patches ~ $25
Scissors ~$25
One of the Western Auto kits sold for $8 on eBay. I have about 20. Even at $5 each, that’s $100

I’m not sure, but the stamp inside the handle is the date, correct?
These are 0894, so I’m guessing Aug 1994

Bro, you ever come across some lots of Matchbox type cars pick them up and I will cover your costs plus a little.
Have a free community thing I do for kids and always have to go online and buy lots of cars. Not looking for a handout, but tired of ebay shipping and all that bs.

You're losing your mojo. ...And you'll never be able to retire to a tiny house if this stuff keeps accumulating in your garage.

One of my first ever big hits was about 80 Lesney Matchbox cars. Back then (20 years ago), I didn’t spend big money. I’d go to garage sells with $20. I reluctantly bought them for about $2 each ($150). I knew nothing about Matchbox. They sold for $2000+. A couple cars went for $500 each.
Edit***
I didn’t read your entire post. You just want a bunch of junk Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars for local kids.
Send me an email to remind me.

Choose 3 items from the dollar menu and flip each to see which wins. Triple up homey.

I did lose it. I just don’t feel like hitting the curbs. It’s not fun anymore. This has happened before, I sit out a year or so, and get back into it.

Ha, I don't need anything nice. I am all about the sifted through and 2nds. Just have all their wheels. Made a little garage to hand them out for free so don't care for anything specific
Go through 10-20 or so a week is the only problem
