I’m not interested but they do have value. I’m talking about the old style FP Little People.
They are worth a couple dollars a piece, but I believe some are worth upwards of $10 a piece and some less than a dollar.
Here’s an auction I found

Do you get your values off of eBay or is there another site?
Also, is there a go to site to find value of paintings & prints?
TIA

Rounded, chipped edges with paint missing. I have always been told that significantly reduces value, so I wanted to see if the $20 each is in this type of condition.
The toy collector's market is all about rarity (true rarity) and condition.

I value stuff off of eBay’s “Sold” auctions. You might see someone asking $100 for something on active auctions, but find a sold auction of the same item with a sold price of $30. You also have to consider condition.
The Ghostbusters Firehouse that I bought, one mint in the box sold for $1800, and there’s a bunch that sold for $200-$300. Mine sold for $100 (my asking price, not an auction) because there’s quite a few pieces missing.
I once bought a comic book with the first appearance of Loki. It’s a $25,000 comic in a near mint, graded condition. Mine was in bad condition and sold for $700.
As for art, that is really hard. I bought a painting last year for $125. I tracked down the artist’s studio, and they valued it at $7500-$10,000. I put it up for sale and get two offers of $1000. Some of the artist’s prints sell on eBay for $2000+, and some of his art sells for $5000+.
Art is like a bunch of people are saying here, it’s only worth what someone is willing to pay.
You can get an appraisal, but don’t expect it.

Very much so!!!
Toys are made to be played with, and eventually get broken, pieces missing, etc.
One of my biggest hits ever was on Mego Superhero figures. I learned a lot from that sell. You can have two mint in package Robins (Batman & Robin)side by side, they look just alike.
One sells for $400, and the other sells for $12,000, all because one has a removable mask.

Vintage clothes and shoes from the 80’s is the hottest thing going.
No shite. The kids today laugh when I tell them I wore those exact model of Vans back in '83-'85.
I'm just dying to see parachute pants make a comeback (and not dying in a haha way)...

Funny thing, Vans cost the same now as they did back then. I remember paying $50-$60 for a pair of checkerboard Vans in the 80’s. They are still $50-$60 a pair.
I’m thinking it’s because they are now made in China. They were probably made in the US back in the 80’s.
It’s the same with Chuck Taylor’s, made in USA in 80’s, made in China now.
My daughter looks at every pair she comes across, looking for “Made in USA” on the label.

I just don't have the interest to do stuff like that but great find on the Thomas the Train stuff.
My 1 kid was into it and we bought a bunch of stuff at stores, fairly pricy. But the wife sold them all in garage sales and the FB yard sale sites or whatever they're called, and got pretty good value on them, so $30 for all of that is impressive.

Got a Stanley No. 2 handplane. What’s that worth? I bought it at an antique store for $26.00. I was shocked. Just had to wash a dead bug out of it and evaporust it.

Counting your time to go through people stuff, pack it up, ship it. Plus the miles on your vehicle to go to these garage sales.... Is it honestly worth it? Maybe when you find something you can sell for several hundred but making 50-75 bucks for 2-3 hours of dealing with people isn't for me.
Maybe he enjoys it...and you don’t? Ever consider that? Different things entertain different people...? Maybe? Wow.

do you ever come across any Lionel O gauge trains/equipment?
Posted on 9/14/20 at 2:29 pm to theantiquetiger
I'll get in touch with you when my kids are done with their train table. We've got plenty of trains, cars, buildings and tracks.

I’m always on the look out for this and have found a few, not the high dollar stuff, though.
I once went to a moving sale in the garden district of BR. The sale was inside, and when I walked in, they had at least 100 pieces hanging on the wall. I tried to buy them all but they would sell. I offered $1500 for it, they nearly took it, but at the last minute decided to keep it.

One time.
I bought a complete set of pre-war O scale for $500 at an estate sale. It wasn’t a lot or super valuable. I think I sold the train itself for $500. I made my money on the landscape pieces, especially one made in Germany, a lamp post. I think it was called Marko or Markel. It was cast iron, dated somewhere around 1920, and sold for $300+ by itself.
Edit:
It was Marklin

I’ve bought a few over the years and they can get pricy if it’s old. They hard hard to tell apart unless you know what you are looking for. I’ll pick them up if they $5 or less, because I don’t know what to look for.

Update on these Thomas the Train and Ghostbusters Stuff.
I’ve sold the ghostbusters, all the train cars, and a few of the buildings for a total of $380 ($280 & $100).
I still have a lot of train stuff left.
This was from a $35 garage sale buy
