I had an ‘07 Tunda I handed down to my son when he was a teenager. She finally gave up the ghost a little shy of 250K. Would have made it longer but she overheated and my son thought he could drive it “a few more miles” to make it home.

Does your '16 F-150 have the 5.0 V-8, or EcoTec V-6? I had the V-8, but I traded it after replacing the intake manifold for the third time. My understanding is that the manifold had a design defect that caused a plastic part of the device to stick open or closed, causing the check engine light to come on. Permanently clearing the code required a new manifold.
Under warranty, bringing the truck in for service was inconvenient. Out of warranty, it was damned expensive. So after the last replacement, I traded for a Chevy truck.
If you're happy, that's great. But given my experience, I think/hope most would find my reaction understandable.

Death, Taxes, and Baby Tac bitching about how things cost more now than they did 27 years ago.

ell, the refrigerant didn't just disappear. Your system is leaking somewhere and what time will tell you is how big the leak is based on quickly your system stops cooling due to low refrigerant.
If you get a strange smell coming from the vents then you evaporator is leaking. Had my mechanic take care of a leaking evaporator on my son’s 2008 Tundra in May. $1,294 for the work as they have to remove just about the entire dash to repair. Still a great vehicle with only 170,000 on the odometer and lots of life left. Need to get the water pump and timing belt replaced soon as standard maintenance.

My 2008 Tacoma with 274,000 miles gets mobil one every 10,000 miles and runs a Baton Rouge-Pensacola round trip most weekends spring thru fall towing a 14' utility trailer, sometimes loaded pretty heavy. Sometimes it doesn't like the transponder key, so I used the spare.

I’m torn because I really like the new F250 with 7.3 gas v8 But my tundra just keeps running
Avoid until they change the oil pump, especially if you are accustomed to Tundra V8 reliability.
A lot of 7.3L Fords are seeing lifter failures at 20,000-40,000 miles….just like every pushrod V8 does at some point it seems. Ford thought a variable oil pump was a good idea. Lots of rumors about them correcting this but they didn’t do it yet.
GM fixed it in the latest version of the 5.3L, but that cancer lives on in the 6.2L engine. Ford still has issues with the 6.8L and 7.3L V8 that they can easily correct but they haven’t for some reason.
Seems like the old style oil pump they put in the newer 5.3L GM has solved the lifter issues. The 7.3L would be a fantastic unit if they made the same change.

2013. Bought her in 2017 with 68,000 miles for $17k
Just for kicks, I did a quick search on AutoTrader- A 4 year old Tundra with 70,000 miles is $40K now
That 2013 with 150,000 miles on it is worth.... $17K
Nice ROI out of that one.
