3 points in the first half or quarter? You running some kind of les miles offense? What was the final score?

First quarter. Had to get the jitters out. 3-12 end of first. 14-18 halftime. We won 44-40.

You need a name change to "John Wooden's Ghost".
Well done, Coach.

Thanks. I think I caught the bug

congrats coach
I kinda miss playing junior high ball. we had an ex varsity assistant coaching us who had a very fluid flex motion offense that they ran in the high school while he was there. I think people overlook how important game plans are at that level

Good Luck to you. That must be rewarding.

Apparently we saw nothing but 2-3 zone in 6th grade and 7th so we didn't really bother putting in a man-to-man offense. Besides, the man-to-man at the high school these kids will go to is a complex motion system with a bunch of rules.
Of course we saw man-to-man tonight. Luckily, the 6'1 kid who I said earlier needed to get a little more dog in him... He's figuring it out before my eyes and tonight it was pretty fricking impressive.

As a father of one of the kids from the other team and also have a good friends son that plays for you I want to commend you guys on a hell of a game was on the edge of my seat all game. We look forward to another great matchup down the road..

You played for Thibodaux?
We battled it out with STM quite a few times, always great games. I graduated from Ellender in 95', didnt play basketball but I was at every game.

And I agree, it was a great game. You guys are well coached and have some good pieces to work with.

They want to be adults, but sometimes they do shite to remind you they're actually still little kids.
Great perspective. Good luck this season.

I played for Danny Broussard at STM. 1996 would have been a little before my time, but we battled Ellender even in my day. Scott always had his teams tough and ready to get after your arse...

Sorry Broussard is what I meant. STM was always tough.
ETA. Ernest Brown LSU played basketball at LSU was our coach.
Then St. Clair Davis, then Scott Gautreaux. I think Cornell Scott is there now.

It seems like you're much more of a Ron Swanson-type coach than an Andy Dwyer.
