While never confirmed, we suspected one of our former neighbors and his wife were swingers. They’ve long since divorced and moved. Oddly enough it wasn’t the alleged swinging that ended the marriage. Instead, it was her gay friend.

She had this one gay friend who hung out with her and her other girlfriends. I met the guy and he seemed gay as a three dollar bill to me, even had that weird gay lisp many of them have. He was just one of the girls. At least that was the case until once night when the gay fiend had crashed at their place following a party. From what the husband later told me over many drinks, he woke up to find his wife wasn’t in bed. He got up and found his wife, naked, on the couch getting fricked rather vigorously by her so-called gay friend.

Guess he wasn’t as gay as we all thought.

I didn't agree (and still don't) with divorce especially if there isn't adultery, abuse (physical, verbal, or chemical), or complete disrespectfulness, but I'm only 1/2 of the equation. The other has to feel the same, or else they have the option to bolt.

Our kids are okay. I don't think any child ever wants their parents to divorce (unless one of the above or more is taking place), but they, like me, are moving on and forward. There is no other choice.

I figured out through the many mistakes I have made in life that I will have more positive days and a better overall spirit if I face it with a positive attitude than if I do with a negative attitude, and it starts with what I put inside my head.

I am very intentional about trying to be positive, and learning how to see things from a different perspective, realizing that my way is not always right or the best way.

And yes, I see a great guy (therapist) who has really helped me become more self-aware, and isn't afraid to call me out on my bullshite, especially early on when I first started seeing him.
