Or even extend our existing membership on the back end. They made the decision to close the gym for several months, yet they still charges for the services unused.

EDIT: My annual fee was paid in November and is good for 1 year.

The gym is part of a community center, so it's not a commercial facility such as LA Fitness or Planet Fitness.

Who should I call to report this?

No one will care. Dispute the charge with your bank or credit card.

Are they still allowing you to get your free pizza on the first Monday of every month?

When you find someone that gives a shite, let me know so I can report my kids' school.

I'd go over the contract or agreement with a fine-toothed comb first. Might save you some embarrassment before you start bitching about it too much.

Just chalk it up as a loss. We still paid our cleaners the weeks they would have normally come. It was the right thing to do.

They made the decision, or a government agency made the decision?

They might not have the money to refund you, and extending memberships means they might not have the money later on, which would result in them closing, and you would be out of the money anyways.

If they go bankrupt, you can perhaps file a claim. You won't get anything from it, but hey, might make you feel better?

Your cc card will refund the money and handle the dispute. You should be able to do this through your cc app, no need to talk to anyone.

I’d get several members together and hire an attorney. A letter will probably get your money refunded
