Aug 71.

You sure that lantern came in that box? The box looks like it has a pre-zip code address on it, making it before 1963. I don’t know lanterns, but Idrivethefiretruck will be here shortly, he knows

I didn’t think about that. I could get rid of my smoker and gas grill (which I rarely use). I didn’t think about smoking in it

It could possibly be an older box. Coleman was known not to throw anything away.

Now that I think about it, TG&Y was not around in the 50’s (I believe). Looks like the 6 behind Kansas, in the last photo, is the first digit of a zip code.

I'm curious as to what you think about the 1099-K threshold changes that eBay is making for 2022. I can't decide whether to avoid selling on eBay altogether or to suck it up and be more careful in what I buy as the margin now needs to be >= 30% to break even.

Maybe im wrong but seems like you would only pay 30% on your profit. But you need to treat your hobby as a business and write off mileage, meals, etc.

I’m gonna cross that bridge when I come to it. I have plenty of “costs” I can factor in. If I can get it under $1000 I owe on taxes, I’ll be happy. I’ll just make it up the following weekend.

TG&Y was founded in the 30’s
no idea when the Morgan city store opened but I know we stopped in there a few times in the mid 70s. The store in BR was mostly junk but the Morgan city store had hunting/camping supplies

That Cutco set is $189 new. You should get your money back on that and the vintage Coleman alone

There’s an update on page 4, for what stuff sold for. I took the first offer of $125. They sell for around $135 on eBay, but there were a few at $135, so as soon as the $125 offer came over, I took it. Sold in one day.

My oldest daughter, who has been going with me since she was 5, is addicted. Since she got her license and car, she’s gone by herself. Her very first solo trip, she made about $200.

Someone mentioned not having breakfast with the family because I’m hitting the curbs. It’s the complete opposite. It’s now a tradition, me and my daughter hit Chic-Fa-La while we are out, and bring it home. We are home by 9am.

I have to say.. this is pretty awesome.

I didn’t notice the date on the original post until after I replied. That was a GREAT haul. Congrats. I’ve tried to get some Cutco pieces at Estate Sales before, but they never last long.

I was #11 in line. The line went through the kitchen first. Ten people passed it up, I saw it as I walked up, spent about 1/2 second deciding if I wanted it

My dad smoked everything from ribs to turkeys on his and I did too. Wore mine out. Not sure how old it was. I think was from the sixties. Finally had to throw out around 2005 or 2006. As someone else said you are limited on size but a small bird can be done.
