Peeing? That's the least of my worries.
I don't want to walk in on some 15 year old HS girl taking a dump. Furthermore, no women is going to take a dump next to a man using a urinal...ever. I don't care how progressive you are unless you are some
Whacked out high hippie chick that enjoys orgies. That's simply always has been and always will be, odd and not natural.

Seems like it would expose men to bullshite harassment claims and expose women to actual harassment.

Everyone should hate this.

The OP should have just gone outside and peed on the side of the building in protest.

At this point may as well put giant troughs in the middle of a restaurant for when people need to go. No need for expensive bathrooms anymore since we aren't going to restrict gender in bathrooms anyway. Then you would truly have to be "brave" to use the bathroom instead of whatever this is turning into.

Then don't. Walk in, do your thing, walk out.

I'm not going to protest or throw bibles at the place, I just kept looking over my shoulder as I was peeing hoping some old lady didn't walk in, just a bit awkward and something that I guess I might have to get used to

Every other "non gender" restroom I've encountered has just been a normal, single stall restroom with a lock meant for a single person.

I thought this was what the fight for gender neutral bathrooms was I was always in favor of "family restrooms" to solve the problem. Is that not the solution all of these businesses making changes are employing? Weird.

We have some male/female single restrooms at my office. It is just for convenience since the big separated restrooms are across the building.

Just do the hole in the floor thing like some cultures do. We could really show how progressive we are.

I give you the squat toilet.

No stalls required if you really want to be progressive and forward thinking.

Nope. They want you to take your bowel issues to the same bathroom some dude who got some bad curry is in. And ignore that foot-tap in the next stall over.

that's not that bad

there's a few bars on the east side that just have 2 restrooms- one is usually labeled "women" and the other "restroom"

everybody quickly learns where they belong

If I remember correctly I think both doors just said "Whatever" on them which is even more Austin chic and super progressive.

I cannot stand places that try to be "funny" with the doors. Some will like match the theme and have foreign names for genders, which is confusing.

I was at Hooters this weekend, and I didn't understand the joke they were trying to make with their doors.
"Most Men" and "All Women".. what does that even mean? Most men? Where do the remainder of the men go? Are we calling some people not men? What a terribly executed joke.

People like this are the ones that will drive 15 hours to find one of these restrooms. I've been in them lots of times in Austin. No big deal.

I meant it more meaning your 32 year old wife probably knows when and when not to use the non-gender bathroom based on the place, and would likely say something if some pervert was doing something.
the young ones might not even realize the pervert is perverting around. made that word up.

So stupid. I did my senior capstone project/paper on gender issues, and I focused heavily on the bathroom issue. This was a few years ago, so the bathroom issue hadn't exploded yet across the US.

I am pretty socially liberal, and I made a very compelling argument for single-stall family restrooms being the solution. Made an A

Part of my research pointed out the serious issues that could come from "gender neutral" public restrooms, so I am absolutely floored that people are pushing for this and that it is actually happening. Trans people 100% deserve to feel comfortable when they need to go to the restroom, but not at the expense of people being sexually harassed. There are more creepy fricks out there that will abuse it than there are trans people that will embrace it.

As far as I am concerned, this issue should only be solved via single-stall "whoever-wants-to-use-it" restrooms. And I'll all for those. Makes public poops less stressful.

Just pee on the seat. The trannys will get the point after a while because they are men. Women are women, so they'll never figure it out, but you get to sleep easy knowing that some chick has been walking around with your whiz on her bottom all day.

Also, if you have problems peeing in front of girls, you might want to get that checked out

Gender neutral single stall bathrooms aren't much of an issue at all.

The large progressive peeing party when all ages, all sexes and all mentally ill using the same bathroom and/or locker room is problematic for the majority of Americans.

Why are the wants of the few being favored over the wants of the many? Why do peeing party supporters feel like their way is the best way for everyone? I don't get their tactics here because they are doing what they despise. They are forcing one side upon the other.

Let the businesses decide what kind of bathrooms they want. The patrons will adjust. I won't eat at a place that has peeing parties and hipsters/progs won't eat a place that doesn't have peeing party.

It really sounds like the perfect solution. Everyone gets what they want without forcing anything on the other side.
