On my right side. Last night this was a simple toothache now it feels like I have a golfball in my mouth. I'm freaking out a bit do I need to go to the hospital? It's 5:30 I don't really know what to do but I need to do something here. I drank some scotch and I have a dentist appointment at 1:30 PM today but that feels a little far out. What would yall do?

I would call the dentist as soon as they open, explain your current condition, and see what they recommend (come in earlier, go to hospital, etc.). If you’re in severe pain, then you probably need to go on to the hospital.

Urgent care opens at 8.

However, anaphylaxis is deadly; if you think you are having an allergic reaction (ate or drank something unusual), don't wait and go to ER.

Is it hot? Feverish? If so, I wouldn't wait for the afternoon. Could be a bad infection.

Probably a massive pus pocket. Have someone punch the shite out of the right side of your face to pop it, spit the pus out into a bowl, and post pics.

I’d drink some more scotch.

If it’s good scotch.

Thanks guys I'm all about going to camp outside the door at urgent care right now it's just that I've never had one of these. Not really feverish it's just that the swelling is outta control.

Likely an abscess. I would call the dentist as soon as they open but unless I had trouble breathing I personally wouldn't go to the ER.

Yeah and because of a world full of pill heads, this guy will sit there 13 hours until a doctor comes in and tells him to take some Tylenol and go to the dentist when the infection clears up.

OP, go to a dentist and he/she will prescribe an antibiotic to clear up the infection. Until then, not much else they will do.

I'm no dentist, but I heard gargling warm saltwater can help with an abscess/swelling in the mouth. The salt kills the bacteria and helps relieve the pain
