Wtf is wrong with you? Anyone that doesn't understand the love of a dog is dead inside.

Really touching story. Your puppy was beautiful and lived a great life clearly. I think they make us better people than we are

They do. I'm convinced they've been given some supernatural directive to make humanity better.

We just don't deserve dogs. Ain't gonna lie, your story made me tear up. I love mine more than anything. You sound like a damn fine dog Dad.
I don't see how people go through life without a dog.

Sorry for your loss bud. Cavaliers a great dogs, and from what I can tell, he was lucky to have you in his life.

He was beautiful. Rest In Peace, sweet boy.

I did not expect this thread to actually make me emotional. What a sweet, loving, precious dog. I am so sorry for your loss, but you had such a wonderful life together. I hope you have found peace and are doing okay. Thanks for sharing.

This is embarrassing. You had a dog. You loved your dog. I get it. But it was just a dog. They die. I've had tons of dogs. Other than the ones I currently have, the rest died. The fact that you're a man and going on like this is ridiculous. Get a grip on yourself.

Oh please. What are you blubbering about. It’s a dog. Get another one, just like your Grandpa would do, minus all the theatrics and drama. You didn’t lose a child. Grow up.

dreaded cavalier murmur
We lost one of our four Cavalier's about 10 months ago to this. He was only about 5. I buried him close to the woods in our backyard. We have 2 of his pups and worry all the time about them dying too soon from a heart murmur. Sorry for your loss. Cavalier's are a great dog breed.

Don't be looking for a cavalier then

Beautiful Dogs. We have all ruby red's and they shed a lot.

You’re a complete waste. Nothing redeemable about you
And Purp,
Sorry for your loss. You gave Louis an awesome life and that’s all that matters

Sorry for your loss. I lost my best friend last year and find it still hard to talk about him without getting choked up.
I don’t know if it helps but I’ve realized that the pain you feel when losing a loved one, human or dog, is relative to the void they leave behind when they’re gone. If he was your companion every day like mine was (came to work with me daily, spent more time with him than my wife probably), the void is large and the grief significant.
You’re not alone and it is normal to feel the pain and grief. It will also slowly heal and be less painful over time.

TLDR; I skimmed and that looks like a cool dog & sorry for your loss.
Would have been better for you personally to write about this before a year passed

Every dog should be as lucky to have an owner who treated it like you treated Louis XIV. That's a beautiful little dog. They give so much more than they take and that makes it so hard when they're gone. I'm glad that you had him-I know you are as well. Good on you.
