My father passed on the Saturday before Easter Sunday. I don't really have word to help out, but we're here.

Wow, it was not long ago that he posted here about his diagnosis. You and your family will be in my prayers. Your father seemed like a humble, good man who will be looking down and smiling at his thoughtful son fulfilling a last wish.

We as mere humans cannot consecrate and make your dad holy; his good nature and kind-hearted actions throughout his life will do far more to honor him.

Oh wow. I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you for posting here to update us though. You certainly didn't have to do so in your time of grief but I know many of us appreciate it.

Again, so very sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.

Can't tell you how sorry I am. I lost my father to a stroke as well. My most sincere condolences to you, and to the rest of his family and friends.

And one last to your dad!

So sorry to hear that...I wondered how he was doing, so thanks for the update.

I lost my dad unexpectedly several years ago, and other loved ones have passed after long illnesses. There really isn't a good way to lose someone where you feel like you said a proper goodbye. I'm sure he knew what was in your heart (saying this as a parent who knows everything!).

It does get easier with time, and after a while you'll remember your dad with a smile on your face instead of sadness.

Damn, dude. Sorry for the loss of your dad.

I wasn't familiar with him on here, but this place can be pretty cool/nice sometimes, so I'm glad the words people said on here comfort you a little bit (as well as your dad).

Keep your head up, and I'm sure he knows how you felt about him even if you didn't get to say goodbye like you would've liked.
