He was transferred for 3 weeks of inpatient rehab (after fighting Humana, who wanted to send him to a nursing home) and months of outpatient rehab (physical, speech and occupational), he's doing much better.

Depending on your dad's insurance, this might be a problem for you. As soon as he is out of ICU, start talking with the case managers. You do not want him to go to a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). They are pretty much nursing homes. You want him to go to an Inpatient Rehab where he gets 3 hours therapy per day. If he isn't traditional Medicare, you may have to appeal or even to a peer to peer to get him approved. However, his diagnosis is one that should get approved!

Praying for your dad!

We had to force my mother, who is in early stages of dementia, to go home, because she needed rest and a bath. They love each other so much she would have spent every second holding his hand. I am here tonight with him.

God Bless Her.

I’ll say some prayers for your dad and yourself. He’s an old ball coach, I’d be willing to bet your dad is a tough son of a bitch never having met him.
