What do they mean by "personal"? As in blocking common domains of public email services like gmail, yahoo, etc? Or are they only going to allow emails to/from members of the company?

I rarely go to any websites, other than for company needs.....and at times, I am now blocked on some of those.
Cybersecurity is a real issue, and I understand. I will conform.

My company blocks a ton, but TD and X are allowed, so I’m good.

Yes, no gmail, yahoo, etc...and I assume that it is my personal accounts....do not know if I can receive a gmail from someone else? Good point.

Best policy is to not to anything personal on your work computer.

I doubt they are going to block mail coming from Gmail to the company. They are probably going to block access to check your personal gmail

Our firewall blocks gmail, any gun sites and gambling sites.

But allows facebook, X and TD.

Yep. That's likely the biggest consideration.

Lots of companies make employees sign a company technology usage agreement where you acknowledge receipt and understanding of the policies appertaining thereto.

You're a tard if you look at anything other than news and work related stuff on your work cpu. Going on TD is especially bold.

I just use NordVPN when I look at porn on my work computer.

VPN stands for “virtual private network.” It’s a service that gives you safe and private access to the internet. By encrypting your connection, a VPN hides your IP and online activity from spying eyes and keeps your data safe from cybercriminals.

Thanks to all kinds of nifty, cutting-edge technology, NordVPN keeps your devices malware free and your browsing safe from strangers’ eyes. How safe? It would take the world’s most powerful computer billions of years to unencrypt your data — that safe.

NordVPN is compatible with all major operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.

Company gave me a laptop, but it has no restriction or access on their end. It is, for all intents and purposes, my own laptop, and I treat it as such. Just have the analytics and dashboard up on the browser at all times while I frick around.

It's a way to mitigate risk from hacking most likely. Not sure how much it can prevent it.

We had a young engineer that would put his ear buds in and be on his computer quite a bit looking at shite on you tube, etc... Took a detailed looks at what he was logging into and the amount of time he was doing stuff instead of engineering.

Welp... he is no longer with us. As an owner I can see where the company might be coming from.
