I’m the stepmom. I have no children. He pays this to his ex wife who hates me, so I have no vested interest in her getting paid. I still think what he pays is fair, considering their salaries.

You should take care of your child. Sounds like you are doing that, so I'm not sure what the big deal is.
There are plenty of tables and calculators out there that will show what a judge will likely grant. See if she will accept your word that you will give her that much every month, and just do it, without the need for the court.
Keep good records.
If she does take you to court, again, not much to discuss, really. If you are working 28/14 you aren't getting full custody.

The last time I said something about my husband’s child support being reasonable, a bunch of people said he was a deadbeat who isn’t supporting his kid. There’s no win on here.

How about this.
You sit down and come up with an estimate of how much is spent on your 4 year old per month.
Figure out how much of that you spend during the duration he is with you.
The two of you look at the numbers and come to an agreement as to what you will pay her each month.
Factor in the cost of 'Other expenses'.
If both of you come to an agreement, you pay her x amount each month... Then she doesn't have to call you when she needs money. If she needs any more at some point then it's on her. She is misusing the money.

The first baby momma should absolutely be going for child support. OP is obviously very irresponsible by getting two women pregnant out of wedlock so she needs to make sure its all in writing.
