Here is a link to tips from Terry Ambrose on brushing scams. LINK

Could be that. Could be a relative who purchased a gift for your daughter online and this is just the shipper. Could be the parent sending on behalf of a kid who was friends with your daughter and moved away a few years ago. Could be a creepy dude. Good luck.

I'd check the sex offender database with the address listed. Could be either Bulverde or Spring Branch. We have some land we've been trying to sell in Spring Branch. The area's been blowing up.

She’s going to steal your car, pick up her friend, and drive to meet that dude

Your 12 year old is up to no good on social media, it appears.

Does your daughter create an Amazon wish list for her birthday? If it’s not set to private, anyone can see it and anyone can send you a gift off of it to your address (they can’t see the address).

Could be a brushing scheme, but I wouldn't just assume that's what it is.

Yeah the brushing scheme packages usually ha e no return address or a return address of legitimate companies. Plus it means that the person getting free stuff has had their personal info compromised. I'm not sure what kind of personal info of a 12 year old could be all that useful. Dou tful she has credit cards or a checking account or any assets they could take over.

More than likely its someone shes been chatting with online. Definitely, OP needs to sit her down and explain that she's not in trouble but really drive home the point about how the internet is full of bad people with bad intentions. Kids should NEVER be giving out any kind of personal info to anyone online.

I hate to tell you this but you need to immediately educate and monitor your 12 yo daughter if she has any ways to communicate online. Evil is out there reaching out for her. You need to get to the bottom of who sent the cup.

Did she somehow buy it discounted on a site like Poshmark, EBay or something like that? I’ve gotten some sketchy looking packages just trying to save a buck. I feel like they wouldn’t put a return address if it was nefarious.

You might wanna double check your daughters internet activity. Mainly anything with geotracking (like SnapChat) as you can be pinpointed down to the room in your house.

I know someone whose 13 yo daughter was contacted by a predator online. This is hopefully a scam or some other explanation but that shite terrifies me too.

We got a mystery package as a wedding gift with a bizarre return address. Ended up being a relative who ordered it off Ebay.

this seems like the most likely scenario to me

I'd ask around for friends/relatives before freaking out too much

Could have been ordered from someone’s Etsy account or one of the other online store sites. Maybe someone fulfills orders from their home which is pretty typical.

But I’d still look at her socials
